Plas Tudno was built in the early 1850’s by William Henry Reece of Warwickshire in order to provide a clean and healthy environment for his sick daughter, Mariana and his two unmarried sisters. Mariana made a full recovery whilst living at Plas Tudno and as thanks to God, William Henry funded the complete restoration of St Tudnos church on the Gt Orme, William Henry is commemorated on a marble plaque on the North wall of the church. Prior to being converted to Apartments Plas Tudno has served as a private house, an exclusive ladies finishing school, a military hospital in both world wars and finally as a private Hotel.
