Portcullis Coach House was where the horses and carriages were kept for the Duke of Beaufort's former hunting lodge next door. It was converted to living accommodation over 30 years ago. Two of the large stables have been converted into comfortable one double bedroom, two storey and well-equipped apartments retaining much of the character of the original buildings.

The downstairs is furnished with sofa, armchair, dining table and chairs, cooker, fridge, freezer and washer/dryer. Upstairs is a double bed  and en suite shower room with toilet and washbasin. There is also storage space upstairs. Fast broadband is available. The apartment benefits from an air source heat pump providing economical heating (and air conditioning if needed in hot weather). Each kWh of electricity consumed produces up to 4 kWh of heating.

There is private parking for one car plus space for occasional visitors. Next to the parking is a small piece of garden which is for the exclusive use of tenants. It has a garden bench, picnic table and rotary washing line.

Acton Turville is a small village with shop and popular pub. Although a very quiet and peaceful location, it is only 5 minutes' drive from Junction 18 of the M4 and has easy access to Bristol, Bath, Chippenham and Swindon.

The apartment is furnished for single occupancy, though can accommodate occasional visitors. It is not set up for couples wanting to make it their main home. We are sorry that we cannot accommodate pets in this apartment.
