The main part of this development, built in 1852, was once a Vicarage then became a home for the aged before it was flats. We bought the property in 2021 to turn the Vicarage part into our forever home. Therefore the building & grounds are undergoing some renovation,changes & improvements over the next few years. (Don't worry it will not be constant disruption) The internal changes that affected Flat 2 have just been completed (hence the brand new bathroom) so there should be no further disruption internally to this flat.
Tenants will need to understand that the external work may, at reasonable times, be noisy/messy but the works will eventually benefit everyone.There may also be internal noise now and then as we work on the Vicarage, but only at reasonable hours.
As Flat 2 is attached to our home it shares our drive and gardens and fire alarm system etc. Therefore we have a no pets policy (I have cat and dog allergies) and no smoking policy. (An outdoor smoking area can be created if required)
Even though this is our home the grounds are to share with tenants & eventually we are hoping to create lovely areas for all to enjoy.
As we will be neighbours we are looking for long term tenants who will not just be tenants but hopefully become friends. We are a couple in our 50s and are very sociable but want a quiet, peaceful life. We currently have other long term tenants who are over 50s/60s and, like us, are friendly and sociable, but quiet.
Due to these special circumstances there is no desire for a very formal tenant/ landlord relationship. (The formal details will obviously be part of the TA paperwork) Instead we want a mutual respect for each other and an informal, friendly approach to make our little development a happy place to live.
