Room in a Shared House, Single Hill, BA2

Come and stay with me, my cat Luna and dog Stella, at The Old Forge, a cosy and peaceful cottage situated a short drive from the idyllic city of Bath. 

The house

My lovely home, formerly a forge, has lots of character features, from flagstone floors to a large fireplace with woodburner. The house has everything you need - WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge, dining area, bathroom and outdoor space.

Your bedroom is a double with a large double wardrobe, mirror & space for a chest of drawers if you need one. There's bedside tables and 2 lamps, 2 windows (1 with a window seat). 

There are picturesque walks on the doorstep and a pub within a half mile, as well as other pubs nearby. The cottage is relaxing, spacious and south facing - lovely and bright when the sun is shining (when you can always enjoy the roof terrace too). The house is on a cycle path which can take you to Bath or south towards Frome. There's also a members' lake nearby which I swim at regularly.

There is parking a short walk from the house (2 mins) and when I'm not around, you can use my parking space which is at the property, I'm happy to share this.

About me


I have lived in Shoscombe for 2 years, working hybrid at a University where I oversee student support. I work Monday to Friday 8-5 (usually) and from March will be commuting to London 1-2x per week so you'd have the house to yourself then. 

I keep the house clean and tidy, enjoy food and wine and relaxing with a good book or film. I'll sometimes have friends visiting and using the 3rd bedroom (with sofabed), and as long as we have no clashes in the diary I am happy for you to do the same!
