Hello! I'm Charlotte. I have lived in this house for over 30 years and am looking to let out a room whilst I go travelling. I will be gone for approximately 6 months and am leaving mid December. I've had lodgers for many years and am a friendly and attentive land person!
The house is a little quirky, there's a few unfinished projects, though I am working on getting these seen to. I am having a new bathroom fitted, this should be completed by the end of the week (13/12/24), so it'll be shiny and new with a bath and shower.
It is comfortable, fully furnished and a good home. There is currently one other lodger (Male) that you would share communal spaces with.
All bills included: Gas, Electric, TV licence, internet etc.
There is a new washer/dryer, dishwasher, espresso machine. We had double glazed windows fitted recently and I'm getting new doors in January 2025.
There is a garden space which you are free to use as much as you wish.
The house also comes with a cat - Kipper. She is 11, still loves to play and sit on laps, especially if there's a blanket involved. She has dietary requirements due to an ongoing health condition, but as long as these are adhered to, she's fine. However, part of living here may mean monitoring/assisting with this and I'd rather be upfront about that. She is an absolute sweetheart though and will definitely pay you back in snuggles.
I am happy to meet people before I leave the UK, but if we can't fit this in, it is likely you will be meeting with the other lodger, but seeing it's you who'd live together this may make more sense anyway!
This house is my family home and it has been a good one to us, and many friends, over the years - I hope it can be for you too, even on a temporary basis. I ask that it is treated with respect - a general standard of cleaning and upkeep and expected.
There will be a cleaner for communal areas every two weeks or so, but your bedroom is down to you.
The room is probably 'semi furnished' in it's current state (there is a bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and small side table). This has worked well in the past as it has allowed space for any personal furniture but I can organise certain extras if needed - which we can discuss as and when required.
Advertising as a single occupancy but couples would be considered.
Pets can be considered as well, but it depends how they'll fit in with Kipper.
LGBTQIA+ friendly household.

request.
Please note that photos are only of the room (and kitty) for the moment whilst the bathroom is being redone - building work is messy!
