About the area…..
Wander leisurely around the gem town of Cockermouth (established in 1220). It’s very relaxing to be able to walk everywhere in town. The home has a good vibe and the house mates will make you welcome.
It’s in a unique, quiet, downtown location by the river. A one min walk takes you to the Main Street. Here you will find many good cafes serving speciality coffees, gyms, pubs and many great restaurants. ‘The Spice Club’ is close by for an excellent curry or Little Basil for Thai takeaway.
A 3 minute walk will take you to all these places- The Castle Bar, a CAMRA award winning pub built in the 16th Century, the Kirkgate theatre which hosts live music events, festivals and films, the medical centre, gyms, the Leisure Centre, swimming pool, climbing wall, CrossFit, yoga, Pilates etc., Sainsbury’s, Lidl, bike shop, hairdressers, barbers, cafes, restaurants and speciality shops. Cockermouth is known as a “Gem town” because it’s such a gem of a place to live.

There are parking spaces available with a good value resident’s permit, in the nearby well lit car park.there is no parking included with the house because it is an historic house.

There are rooms over 3 floors, 3 bathrooms and a separate utility room. The communal room is the huge kitchen where housemates socialise. Temperature and times of heating are controlled by housemates. There is a capped monthly amount which is included in the rent. If a couple are sharing they will need to purchase 2 low cost parking permits or park down the street in the free parking area.
