Holly Cottage is in a quiet village (East Allington) 10 mins drive from Kingsbridge, 15mins drive from Totnes and 15mins drive from Slapton Beach.
You will need your own transport to live here just for your own sanity! You also need to be in secure employment.
To be clear this is an advert for a lodging agreement but please read below for clarification!
There is another room that could occasionally be used if you wanted to have guests come and visit.
The room comes furnished and is in a quiet but easy going household however you will predominantly have the place to yourself.We work full time in Bristol where we spend almost all of our time and will only occasionally visit on weekends which we will be happy to discuss in more detail to make sure you are happy with the arrangement.
There is a room that we use separately which we would keep private to ourselves and we would respect your privacy but also be happy to spend time together if that worked with you.
The living room, kitchen, bathroom and garden are shared. Outbuildings are not shared but you would have use of the washer and dryer.
Ideally the person lodging would be someone who is engaged with the local community and interested in being conscious about the way they live and be caring about their connection to nature and people. I would be happy for this person to tend to the garden in their own way if they wanted to but this is not a requirement of them. We have some perennial plants growing and some potentially interesting projects taking place with the outbuildings moving forwards. For now it is just a simple lodging setup being proposed and I would love to hear more about you. Do get in touch even if you think you are different to the description above, I am happy to consider all applicants.
The neighbours are very friendly and we all have chats over our low fences as our gardens are all in a row and we have an adjoining rear path that connects all the houses and is shared. It is a lovely setup really.
The house comes furnished with a fairly well equipped kitchen: electric hob oven and grill, kettle, crockery and cutlery etc. washer and dryer included. Heating and hot water are oil and the house is generally really dry and does not suffer from damp/bad smells but is also a lovely characterful old cottage. We are happy to discuss different arrangements around furniture if you want to bring some of your own.
On street parking.
There is a friendly pub in the village.
N. B. - If you are a tall person please be aware that there are low ceilings in the kitchen and some low doorways in the cottage - it is old! We are 5ft10in and we can just stand up comfortably in the kitchen.
