Getting around
The flat is within very easy walking distance for all public transport to major cities such as Leeds (15 miles) & York (22 miles) and the pretty historic market towns of Knaresborough (4 miles) & Ripon (13 miles). Leeds/Bradford Airport is only a 30 minute drive and there is an airport bus pick up stop just a few hundred yards from the flat. Harrogate Conference Centre is a lovely easy 20 minute walk away, 5 mins in car/taxi - 1 mile max. The Yorkshire Showground is a 30 minute walk, 7 mins in car - 1.7 miles. Bus pickup to RAF Menwith Hill very closeby. There are numerous beautiful country walks, historic houses and places of interest around the Harrogate area such as the Yorkshire Dales & Moors, Ripley Castle, Fountains Abbey, Newby Hall, the Bronte Parsonage at Haworth for example. This really is an exceptional area opposite a beautiful wooded park in a conservation area and only a 5 min brisk walk from the Spa town centre with all the amenities you could possibly need…... Fine delicatessens, boutiques, galleries, bars, cafes, restaurants, 24/7 gym with classes a mere couple of minutes walk away at Pure Gym, great shops, cinemas, "Everyman", theatre, library, supermarkets, Harlow Carr Gardens), Valley Gardens, the Stray and of course the famous Betty's tearooms, to name but a few …….and all within very easy walking distance from the flat. Harrogate Parkrun (can recommend!) is a short jog to the starting line for runners, there are local swimming pools, spas, salons, Turkish baths, cycling and tennis/squash courts nearby. Tour de France Grand Depart venue 2014. Tour de Yorkshire venue 2017, UCI World Cycling Championships September, 2019.
