This unique and recently completed detached house designed by architect Ian Chalk, is made using natural materials and sits around an old oak tree, tucked back from the road in a remote, calm garden in Blackheath. It was shortlisted for the Architects Journal Small Projects Award.

It comes furnished, with two king sized beds.  The décor inside is modern, with new appliances, fixtures and fittings included a new washing machine, full size integrated dishwasher and a wine fridge. It is a light, spacious place with lots of windows, underfloor heating and a cosy Charnwood wood burning stove. There is off road parking in the drive for two cars and access to a large, south facing front and back garden.

Both bedrooms are spacious, with king size beds as well as plenty of storage. In the bedrooms, there are automated blackout blinds and sliding bookshelves which track across the windows for privacy and to create a dark room at night.  

This listing is for the property with bills (electricity, water, Wi-Fi, council tax, TV License, a weekly gardener and a monthly window cleaner) included. The property has Virgin high-speed internet. As the landlord, I will continue to pay for a monthly window cleaner and a weekly gardener (Thursdays 11-1pm) to help maintain the property.

The garden was designed by Josh Fenton , from Fenton Gardens, whose most recent show garden won a gold award at BBC Gardeners world live. The garden at Bracken House was his entry last year, called ‘Sub-Aqua’, which won a silver merit. It has a large water feature containing aquatic plants that trickles water beside the Sho Shugi Ban cladding deck area, adding to the calm environment of the garden. Please see pictures.
