At present the property is shared by a retired couple (the owners) a Ukrainian family, and a single female.
Yaxley has a large recreation ground, with football and cricket pitches etc. as well as play equipment. There are three public houses, which all serve food, as well as a carvery, a baker's shop/cafe, two Chinese take-aways, a kebab shop, two fish-and-chip shops, an Indian take-away, and a Pizza restaurant.
There is a shopping centre with post office, library and one of the best health centres in the country. Several convenience stores and a Co-op supermarket (lots of fair-trade goods). Gift shops, two charity shops and two pharmacies. One of the largest Tesco supermarkets in Europe is just 3 miles away in Serpentine Green, Hampton, which also boasts other High Street stores and eateries.
Peterborough itself is a cathedral city with museum, shopping centres and an attractive park. A Showcase Cinema complex is on the eastern outskirts, and Ferry Meadows, an attractive country park with lakes, to the west.
