We lived happily in our home for 2.5 years before renting it out to go travelling for a while. We found it a great location for enjoying all the suburban, parks, shops, pubs, bars and cafes, while being close to town and the train station (20-minute walk to the station). You are right on the edge of Meersbrook and Heeley so have all the amenities of Chesterfield Road 10 minutes’ walk away, with a Co-op and Post Office 2 minutes walk up the road. Cat Lane woods are also 5 minutes away which are good for running in and are part of the Sheffield Round Walk.
We have a large attic room with a Velux and a dormer window, so it is nice and light with views out to the peak district. We then have another large double bedroom at the front of the house, and a small spare room at the back of the house. This fits a double sofa bed in, and is ideal for when friends and family visit, or can be an office/storage room.
We are lucky to have a big open plan kitchen/dining room which is great for cooking and hosting, a cellar which we will largely be using for storage, a cellar head with storage and a decent size living room with a cosy log-burner. We have one bathroom with a shower and a large bathtub.
We have a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher built in the kitchen, along with 2 x half height fridges and 1 x half height freezer.
*Bills are not included in the above price* For clarity in 2023, each month we paid in bills: £120 council tax, £86 gas and electric (we found for us this averages out over the summer/winter months), £38 water, £30 internet = £274 per month in bills.
Pets are very welcome, we love animals, as long as they are well behaved and trained. Happy with smoking as long as it isn’t inside the house.
In terms of parking, 95% of the time we never struggle to park outside of our house and that is usually with two vehicles. Occasionally, busy football matches can affect parking.
