Description
This stylish, brilliantly located 3 bed townhouse offers a superb, unique and luxurious getaway in the heart of the beautiful cathedral 'city' of Truro. It's just a few moments walk from the heart of town, with its fabulous independent and high street cafes, restaurants and shops, whilst nestled in a quiet residential area.
This property is offered from 24th June.
The space
This light filled two-floor house (technically a maisonette, as there is a basement apartment below it, accessed separately from the rear) is a real gem, located towards the leafy north-western side of central Truro.
The first floor affords some lovely open views to the rear over the surrounding gardens and out towards the cathedral, and the south-westerly orientation means that the lounge and two main bedrooms enjoy the best of the afternoon and early evening sunshine.
The property is accessed via the door at the front of the building.
The front door opens on to a long hallway, which turns to the left to give access to a good-sized living room, small downstairs WC, and compact kitchen/diner.
Turning stairs lead up from the rear of the hallway, taking you up to the three well-appointed bedrooms and a modern shower room on the first floor.
There is a tiny courtyard area to the front of the property, furnished with a bench. Whilst this small area is the only outside space, it still provides a lovely little spot to catch the afternoon sun.
DOWNSTAIRS
Living Room
The front, south-west facing side of the property accommodates the cosy and characterful living room which will generously seat four guests in comfort. This space is bright and beautiful; peppered with quirky oriental art and furnishings. The aesthetic here is calm and contemporary, with pops of colour in the finishing touches subtly bringing it to life.
The large window to the front of this living space encompasses a large proportion of the front elevation, meaning that the light floods in on a sunny afternoon. The quality of the light - something for which Cornwall is famed, particularly amongst artists - makes this a lovely, restful space.
The sofa here converts to form a full size comfortable double bed, to offer you more sleeping configurations to suit your needs.
Kitchen / Dining Area
The rear of the property plays host to the compact kitchen with its small dining area.
The kitchen is arrayed in an L-shape beneath a large window. The matt navy units, white worktops and splashback tiled in a delicate bone shade also give this space a beautiful feeling of sophistication, along with the standout navy and gold peacock wallpaper.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you will need for your stay, whether you are planning on eating out every meal, or cooking up a storm for a 3-course Sunday lunch.
It also houses the small, round eiffel style glass dining table and four eiffel style padded chairs. This offers a perfect space for a meal, or an ideal place to sit and work from home.
Downstairs WC
There is a tiny but glamorous WC between the kitchen and living room.
It comprises a WC, small wash basin and oodles of luxurious style!
UPSTAIRS
Stairs to the rear of the hallway lead up to the landing, which is accented by a delicate gold console table against the stunning peacock feather wallpaper.
Master Bedroom; 'The Blue Room'
The master bedroom also enjoys the beautiful light at the front of the building.
This well-proportioned room boasts a comfortable double ottoman storage bed, as well as plenty of further storage space in the open wardrobe and the chest of drawers.
The decor is bold but restful, really highlighting the charms of the buildings traditional architectural style.
Second Bedroom, known as 'The Teal Room'
When the glorious Cornish sunshine shows her face, this room is bathed in the same stunning south-west light enjoyed by the master bedroom. Smaller in proportion, it also enjoys a full-sized double bed with storage beneath, though this time built in to the wall beneath the window.
There is once again ample storage, with a tall mirrored wardrobe, and four large drawers within a fabulously versatile piece of furniture that functions as chest of drawers, bedside chair and bedside table all-in-one!
Small Double Bedroom, or 'The Gold Room'
The rear, east-northeast facing side of the house is where the third bedroom can be found. This room is decorated in peaceful, light shades, with a stunning pearlescent pale gold feature wall behind the teal velvet, small double storage bed. It also offers ample storage in another multi-functional piece of furniture, which serves as a large chest of drawers with a useful small hanging space.
Shower Room
The small bathroom is in the centre of the house, and comprises a large shower cubicle with vanity basin and WC.
The decorative scheme here is light and fresh, with pale turquoise tiles and gold accents throughout to reflect the scheme throughout the house.
Parking
While there is no private parking on the property, on street parking on the road/pavement just outside is free and almost always available.
Otherwise, there is a council car park just a 5 minutes walk away at Edward Street Long Stay Car Park.
